Copper Tape Shielded Cable

KVVP is a PVC-insulated and sheathed control cable with a tinned or bare copper conductor and a braided copper screen. It is rated for 450/750V and below, and is primarily used in control and monitoring circuits where protection against electromagnetic interference is required.

Although designations differ across countries, KVVP remains one of the world's most common control cables. In China, it complies with GB9330 for plastic-insulated control cables. Under European standards (IEC 60227 and IEC 60502), it is often referred to as CY cable; in Germany, VDE nomenclature designates it as LiYCY. In the U.S., similar products fall under UL categories such as PLTC or shielded control cable. The UK typically adopts BS designation SY cable, while France follows NF standards with the type H07VVC4V-K. In Japan and other Asian markets, local variants exist that retain the identical construction and performance characteristics.

Minimum bending radius requirements: ≥6× cable OD for unarmored types; ≥12× OD for armored or metal-tape shielded types; ≥6× OD for flexible shielded cables.
