Flexible PVC Cable

RVV flexible PVC cable stands for a flexible cord featuring a copper conductor, PVC insulation, and an additional PVC outer sheath. This type is often referred to as light PVC-sheathed flexible cable, and is more commonly known in the trade as "soft sheathed wire."

RVV flexible PVC cable finds its primary use in power delivery, control circuitry, and data/signal communication for a wide range of equipment-including home appliances, measuring instruments, electronic devices, and industrial automation machinery. Beyond these standard roles, it is also well-suited for security applications such as burglar alarm installations and building entry intercom systems.

Available in the following power-frequency voltage grades (Uo/U): 450/750V, 300/500V, and 300/300V, depending on the specific variant.

Conductor Material

Made from high-purity oxygen-free copper for excellent conductivity.

Insulation Type

The core insulation is composed of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) material.

Temperature Tolerances

Under continuous operation, the maximum conductor temperature is 70°C for types 60227IEC52, and 90°C for types 60227IEC56 and 60227IEC57.
During installation, the ambient temperature must remain at or above 0°C.

Minimum Bending Radius

The recommended bending radius is determined by the cable's overall diameter (D):

For D up to 25mm → at least 4 times D

For D greater than 25mm → at least 6 times D

 

Exceptional Flexibility – Constructed from finely stranded bare copper, the conductors are highly pliable and resistant to fatigue, making them easy to maneuver through tight bends, confined conduits, and awkward cable trays without risk of fracture.

Dual-Layer Protection – An inner insulating layer over each core, combined with a tough outer PVC jacket, provides robust defense against mechanical wear, surface abrasion, and exposure to light moisture or humidity.

Compact Multi-Core Assembly – Multiple individually insulated conductors are bundled into a single sheathed cable, with core counts typically ranging from 2 up to 30 or more. This design simplifies wiring layouts and reduces clutter in both power distribution and control circuits.

Resistance to Harsh Conditions – The PVC outer sheath offers good tolerance to common industrial substances such as oils, dilute acids, and alkalis. It also supports continuous operation at ambient temperatures up to 70°C, contributing to reliable performance and extended service life.
